My woodturning world
Meet the artist
I have been a woodturner for ten years and enjoy finding what is hiding inside a piece of wood. I have always enjoyed working with my hands and have played around with other crafts such as stained glass as well as other forms of woodworking but once I discovered what can happen to a piece of wood when it is put on the lathe, wood turning has become my primary hobby. I am able to incorporate other activities such as pyrograply, carving and coloring into my work in order to create one-of-a-kind pieces.
I am able to share my skills with students, fellow members and the public.
I have the privilege of sharing my experience with those just getting started in the craft.
As a Board member of our Guild I am able to be an advocate of woodurning by being involved in not only the governing of the club but also by being involved with the community.
I practice the craft of woodturning by trying new techniques and making a variety of types of pieces.
I enjoy promoting the field of woodturning to the public by exhibiting pieces at varius venues as well as selling pieces at shows.
